Standing Performance

General Comments on Standing Horses in Performance

• Most standing horses are not suitable for "speed" events such as barrels, pole bending, jumper, etc. However, with creativity many things can be overcome.
• Dressage halt is best performed by a horse standing square and on the bit. Horses not standing square or on the bit are only suitable for training level.
• Saddleseat is best shown with a standing horse in a full show stretch.
